This is a conversation between Todd and Mike: Mike was working for an internet company in Manhattan / in New York so he was living in New York when the internet boom began. He lived in Midtown in an expensive apartment with three roommates. None of them were New Yorkers. He liked going to Greenwich Village because there were clubs and bars, also because Punk music was born there and he loves Punk Music.
Mike would like to live in New York but it is an expensive city. If he had the opportunity, he would go back / return to New York.
