Emmeline Pankhurst

The report starts with a quote (quotation) from Emmeline Pankhurst, in which she explains that they are not lawbreakers / they don’t want to break the law, but they are lawmakers / they want to make the law.

Then the journalist presents Emmeline as a wife, a mother and also a political activist: she created a movement of women for women. It was a freedom movement which aimed at giving a political voice to women in the UK. She was helped by the Suffragettes and they finally made a campaign and led it to success. She gave her life for that cause, risking her health, putting herself in danger. Future feminists followed her ideas… so they all fought for women’s place…
