    Group 2

    CO Brexit

This document is an interview of an English / a British woman. She is interviewed about the Brexit and more precisely about the referendum / the vote of June 2016. She quotes the question that was on the voting slip, which was : “Do you want the UK to leave the EU? Yes or No?”.  Then, she explains that she was surprised by the vote because the majority said / answered “YES” to the referendum. Before the vote / in the run up, the polls were very close but on the day of the vote, because each person had a vote, they voted to leave.

The possible consequences of the BREXIT:

LABOUR MARKET: Foreigners will have problems to find a job… more jobs will be available for the British… shortage in job application…

BANKS: They will no longer receive subsidies from the EU. The British currency (the Pound = £) will lose its value.

AIRLINES: The cost / price of tickets will be higher because the partnerships between airlines and the EU will no longer exist…

FOOD / GENERAL RETAIL IMPORTS-EXPORTS: it will cost the British a lot to import and export their goods, so prices will go up.

CONSTRUCTION: construction sites might not progress very fast because less immigrants will be allowed in.

REAL ESTATE: inflation in general will occur…

CLIMATE CHANGE: climate change might be in danger because of deregulation: if the UK is out of the EU, they can decide for themselves…
