Time Capsule.
In the time capsule / the trunk, we have found a computer, one platform shoe, smileys, a Beatles record, a print /a poster of Star Wars, and a copy of Time Magazine…
The computer: it’s the first microcomputer, named Apple II, with an integrated keyboard, and we can use floppy disks with it. For the 70s, it was a small computer, but compared with today, it is huge.
The platform shoe: it has cork, wood, plastic or rubber soles. It is 10 centimetres high (= 4 inches). It is
assimilated to the Disco music period (the 1970s). It was mostly worn by young people, especially women.
The smiley: it’s a button with a happy face. It appeared in the 1950s, after the WWII (the second world war).
A Beatles record: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison were the 4 Beatles. They played Pop music. The song on the record was Let it Be.
The magazine: It’s a copy of Time Magazine, it’s an American weekly magazine.
