    Sydney is Australia’s largest and oldest city. There are 4 million inhabitants. There are 180 different nationalities: people speak 140 different languages.

     

    World-famous places of interest

    If you’re in Sydney you can visit the various harbours, the Opera House, gardens and parks, Circular Quay in the evening, museums and wildlife reserves…

     

    An outdoor life

    If you live in Sydney, you practice activities outdoors: you go out to cafés or restaurants, you go sightseeing, or you hang out in parks…

     

    A bustling city

    Day or night, the city buzzes with life. There is always something to do: cultural activities, concerts, festivals, …

     

    Beaches & parks:

    A multicultural city :

    Sydneysider = an inhabitant from Sydney

    Sydney is Australia’s largest and oldest city. There are four million people who live in Sydney. It’s a multicultural city because people come from 180 different nations / places and they speak 140 different languages.

     

    World-famous places of interest:

    In Sydney you can visit the harbours, the Opera House, museums and wild-life reserves so you can’t get bored there!

     

    An outdoor life:

    If you live in Sydney, you live outdoor: in parks, on the beach, in cafés and restaurants…

     

    A bustling city:

    Bustling = with a lot of agitation

    There is always something to do no matter what time of the day or of the night it is: walking, going to the Opera, going to concerts or visit museums…

     

    Beaches & parks:

    There are 37 beaches near Sydney where you can go scuba diving, surfing, sailing, swimming, snorkelling. To go there you can take a bus.

    Sydney is surrounded with parks where you can go walking or trekking.

    Sydney is considered the best city because it hosted / welcomed the Olympic Games in 2000. It also attract four million visitors / tourists every year.

    Ottawa

    Ottawa is the capital of Canada. Ottawa is a big city: there are 870,000 (eight hundred and seventy thousand) inhabitants and there are 1.2 (one point two) million inhabitants in its region. Ottawa is the fourth largest metropolitan area in Canada, after Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

    Business is mainly based on government, tourism, services, education and high-tech industries… for example, 7 million tourists / visitors come to Ottawa every year and there are more than 1500 (one thousand five hundred) advanced technology companies).

    Ottawa is ranked sixth in the world for its quality of life because there are very few polluting industries, contrary to other places in the country.

    Temperatures can vary: winters are very cold / freezing: temperatures are between -15 (minus fifteen) and – 5 (minus 5)°C. In the summer, temperatures are very hot / warm: they can go up to 35°C.

    OTTAWA

    The region of Ottawa has 1.2 million inhabitants among which 870,000 (eight hundred and seventy thousand) people live in Ottawa city alone. Ottawa is the fourth largest metropolitan area in Canada, after Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

    As far as business is concerned, the major activities in Ottawa are government and tourism: the city welcomes 7 million visitors / tourists every year.

    There are also services, education and high-tech industries: there are more than 1500 advanced technology companies in this city.

    Ottawa is ranked sixth / is on the sixth rank in the world for its quality of life because there are very few polluting industries, contrary to other places in the country.

    In winter, the temperatures are between – (minus) 15 and – (minus) 5°C and in summer it can be very hot : as high as 35°C…
