Le hero
One day in New York, Julien Duret, a French engineer on vacation / holiday, saved / rescued a toddler / a child from drowning. He was walking on a pier with his girlfriend and he spotted / saw something in the water. First he thought it was a doll but then he realized it was a 2-year-old girl. Her name was Bridget Sheridan and she had fallen in East River. The French tourist didn’t think (twice) about what to do: he jumped / dived to get the girl. Then he vanished and everybody in town thought he was a hero but he was gone.
He says he doesn’t think he is a hero, he thinks everyone would do the same.

Winston Churchill’s war speech
On the 13th of May 1940, the Prime Minister of England, Winston Churchill delivered a war speech about the entrance of England in the second World War. He started his speech by saying that he had nothing to offer, except blood, tears, toil and sweat. he is talking to the House of Commons and he is hiding nothing to them… he announced that England would fight by land, sea or air, showing his motivation / determination. He will also rest on England’s power and he mentions God that will also help them. He states that it is going to be a long battle and a lot of sufferings. Furthermore he warns the population saying that the hardest is to come… In his speech he denounces Nazism and Hitler. Actually he clearly says England is going to fight a monster.
To conclude his speech, he repeats the word “Victory” five times to show his determination and optimism.
