-        From a country that was created at midnight

-        Was almost killed: just after midday

-        One year ago : left her home for school… never returned

-        Shot in the head by a Taliban bullet

-        Flown out to Birmingham, England / taken to hospital

-        Believes in her heart she will return one day to Pakistan…

-        In England: speaks about her life

o  Open her eyes: clothes over the floor / school prizes on the shelves / every convenience you need (water running from the tap / electricity) / cooking / packets /

o  Open the window: tall buildings & long roads… pavements

o  Close her eyes: her friends and teachers from Pakistan / the Swat Valley / green waving fields / fresh blue rivers / water from rivers or from the well

o  Her mind = transports her to her school / best friend (Maniba): talking & joking (feeling she’s never left Pakistan)
